You Are Here : Employment Learning and Skills

Through its Statement of Ambition, TVU has set out its aims and objectives to take us forward towards achieving sustainable economic growth for the Tees Valley. Of fundamental importance is the need to ensure that our young people and adults are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to enter the labour market, find fulfilling employment and progress in work.

TVU is leading the preparation of an Employment, Learning and Skills Framework that will identify the key issues facing the Tees Valley in terms of 14-19 learning; higher education, adult skills provision and employability support and suggest ways in which we can work together on a collaborative basis to address them. Building on the success of our Employability Framework, this is the first time that such a cross cutting strategy has been produced to unite us across both geographic and policy areas.

Key partners are working together as part of the TVU Employment, Learning and Skills Advisory Group and through various task and finish groups, to identify areas where the LEP can respond to the key policy changes and challenges and add value to the remit of individual partners.
