You Are Here : Equality Impact Assessments

Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is the tool Tees Valley Unlimited uses to ensure that equality considerations are reflected in our policies and strategies at the developmental stage. They look at whether working practices are likely to have a positive or negative impact on the groups identified as having protected characteristics (previously referred to as the six strands of diversity) and community cohesion.

EIAs undertaken and completed before 6th April 2011 were assessed against the six strands of diversity, namely: Age; Disability; Race; Faith; Gender and Sexual Orientation. EIAs undertaken after this date have been assessed against those groups identified in the Equality Act as having protected characteristics.
